Dear Colleagues,
We must pull up our collective socks.
The unedifying spectacle of Ernie Gawilan (pictured above), winner of 3 gold and 2 silver medals, competing in the Tokyo Paralympics, creates a bad image of abortion.
The fact that his disabilities are the result of a botched abortion is a living rebuke to our profession.
We are paid to kill babies in the womb and when babies survive against the odds, people may start to think of the millions of we have killed; of how they may have looked; what might they have achieved; who they might have loved and been loved by.
Our job is to erase these babies from all thought or memory so, come on, let’s make sure we do our job thoroughly.
Yours sincerely disappointed,
