As much as we at The Abortionist love Meghan Rapinoe and Sue Bird, couldn’t we find better poster girls for the promotion of abortion in the case involving Mississippi’s Republican-backed bid to ban the procedure after 15 weeks of pregnancy.
After all there were more than 500 women atheletes who petitioned the US Supreme Court on Monday.
When I say better, I do not mean to Meghan and Sue are bad. No! No! No! They are the best! We love them to bits; to the moon and back.
But aren’t they happily married – to each other!
Perhaps I should have said “appropriate” or “representative”?
Of course, abortion is an issue for all women, lesbians included (if only out of solidarity with other non-lesbian women), but I think it is fair to say that abortion might be a tad more relevant to women who actually have sexual relations with men.
Don’t shoot me! I’m just saying.
